Catholics for Housing Has Been Funded for the Third Year by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD)

DUMFRIES, VA, January 28, 2016 – Catholics for Housing (CFH) has been funded once again by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development to be the Administrator of the 2016 HOMEownership Down Payment Assistance Program. This program provides down payment assistance to eligible buyers in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

“We are thrilled to be able to continue to administer this program,” said Karen DeVito, CFH’s Executive Director. “We feel this program is very beneficial as these HOME funds may be used by eligible applicants in Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington and Prince William Counties. CFH is pleased to make a difference in the lives of the recipients who are first time homebuyers.”

The Down Payment Assistance Program is designed exclusively to create homeownership opportunities for low to moderate income households. Eligible applicants must complete a VHDA Homebuyer Class, complete homeownership counseling with CFH, be a first-time homebuyer, secure a mortgage, have a purchase contract and have a household income that does not exceed 80% of the area median income.

For more information, please contact Susan Wood, Program Administrator via email susan@cfhva.org or via phone 703-221-4510.
