Dear Friends,

On May 27, 2021, our residents experienced severe storms at our East End Mobile Home Park in Manassas, Va. We were able to respond very quickly and had most debris from the fallen trees and limbs before the second band of rain fell. The crews remained on site until dark and returned the next morning as our crews continued cleanup through the next two days.  You can see several photos of the initial cleanup and damage caused by the storm at the bottom of this email.

No one was injured; however, three homes have been damaged and one family was displaced. The displaced family was assisted by the American Red Cross and has temporary lodging and are working with their insurance company. Many homes were faced with minor damage and may be in need of shingle or minor roof repair and some cannot afford the deductibles or do not have insurance. Can you help? If so, please consider donating so we can get their home back to normal and we can continue with any necessary clean-up.

Thanks to Virginia’s Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP), donors who give to CFH qualify for an extra state tax benefit through June 2022. When you personally donate a minimum of $500, you can deduct up to 65% of that on your state return. When your business or organization donates a minimum of $616, it will benefit from a 65% tax credit on its state return as well.

If you’re thinking about helping to fund our work, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.

Please consider donating here.

Sincerely,

George Davies
